Garden of Earthly Delights
So what does a garden have to do with Masks?
Well, in the case of the Web of Illusion, it has everything to do with it.
Just as illusionmasks are an product of my imagination,
so is my Garden.
Into it I put my time, thought and energy.
From it I derive pleasure, beauty, food and
inspiring thoughts and ideas that sometimes seem to come from just being there.
Below are a few pictures of my Garden of Earthly Delights
and some thoughts on Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
begin here........

The Garden is the most important thing in my world.
It is the source of my food and therefore life as I know it.

My garden is also beautiful, peaceful, and a lot of work. But such rich rewards pour from it!
It gives me exercise, mental quiet, endless learning, tasty meals.
It is my kingdom, my creation, my hope for and participation in, the future.

The garden is a serene and gentle place
to spend the late afternoon in the warm rays of the summer sun.

The birds' song, the crickets' chirp, can soothe away a day of tension and worry
and I feel that I have produced something truly enjoyable and worthwhile with my time.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are those things that unite all of us, no matter what our circumstance.
In our culture today, all of these seem to be satisfied by the acquisition and spending of money.
But surely there is more to it than that....

Surely there is some value in being able to take a problem and solve it.
Some value to the knowledge of how to be self sufficient and independent.

Food, Energy, and Shelter are the main ingredients necessary for life to carry on.
How many would know where to go if the grocery stores shelves were empty?

One day,
many things may change that we have grown used to and accept as facts of life.
But one thing won't change..... we will still be hungry every day.

In speaking of the past we say in amazement,
"How did they ever do it?"

People not only worked very hard,
but they used knowledge and skills passed down
throughout many generations.

In place of the gadgets and the gasoline they had tools carefully crafted to do very specific jobs.
They talked to each other alot more than we do today.
Those fortunate ones could read the Knowledge of The Ages in books.
It was a very different world than the world we now live in.

Not everything about that world was better than the one we have now!
But there was time enough for everything in those days.

Time to stop and gaze at the autumn woods, smell the roses, or build a pyramid to last 5000 years.
Now, as the pace of life has speeded up, we seem to have lost the time for many things.
Many don't even have time to prepare a single meal in an entire week,
much less grow some of the ingredients, or preserve them for future meals.

I can assure you that canning is not a lost art and science!

Many of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers canned and preserved food as a fact of life.
But for nearly everyone today,
the grocery store has replaced that fact of life with the new fact
that without the store, we are helpless and hungry.
The knowledge of how to feed myself is an important part
of my Life, Liberty and (that ever elusive), Pursuit of Happiness.

I would recommend starting with something like peaches if you want to give canning a try.
Invite a friend over and start peeling!
But whatever you find yourself in pursuit of
.
remember to LIVE each day to it's fullest.

Be kind and honest with people.
Speak up when you see something needs to be said.
Tell people you love that you do.

This way, when your time to die arrives, you will have completed the important things.
Things that may not seem that important until that very instant
when there is no turning back to fix what you wish you could.

Enjoy the beauty of this world.

Try to add to it.
Why?

Because it feels good.
